Scientists uncover Warehouse-full of Complex Molecules never before seen in Space

In a series of nine papers, scientists from the GOTHAM—Green Bank Telescope Observations of TMC-1: Hunting Aromatic Molecules—project described the detection of more than a dozen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the Taurus Molecular Cloud, or TMC-1. These complex molecules, are allowing scientists to better understand the formation of stars, planets, and other bodies. Researchers enhance Alzheimer’s disease classification through AI

Better detection of the disease may lead to earlier treatment, opportunity to participate in clinical trials. Warning signs for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) can begin in the brain years before the first symptoms appear. Spotting these clues may allow for lifestyle changes that could possibly delay the disease’s destruction of the brain.

“Improving the diagnostic accuracy of Alzheimer’s disease is an important clinical goal. If we are able to increase the diagnostic accuracy of the models in ways that can leverage existing data such as MRI scans, then that can be hugely beneficial,” explained corresponding author Vijaya B. Astronomers see a ‘Space Jellyfish’

A radio telescope located in outback Western Australia has observed a cosmic phenomenon with a striking resemblance to a jellyfish.

Published today in The Astrophysical Journal, an Australian-Italian team used the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) telescope to observe a cluster of galaxies known as Abell 2877.
